This website, staader.net, is run by Greg Staader, a sole trader providing website, domain and email services to small businesses in Australia. This policy explains what personal information I collect through this site, why, and what happens to it. Even where the small business exemption in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) may apply to me, I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What I collect
When you use the contact form I collect the details you type in: your name, your email address, the topic you choose and your message. Your browser may also send technical information such as your IP address and browser type, which my hosting provider records in standard server logs.
If you become a client, I also collect the information needed to do the work, such as business and contact details and access to the domain, email and website accounts I manage for you.
Why I collect it
- To read and reply to your enquiry.
- To quote for, deliver and support the services you ask for.
- To keep this site secure and working (for example, spam protection and server logs).
I do not sell your information, and I do not use it for advertising or send marketing emails you did not ask for.
Who sees it
Contact form messages are emailed to me at greg@staader.net. This site is hosted on a server in Australia, and my hosting and email providers handle data on my behalf only to run those services. I only share your information with others if you ask me to, if it is needed to deliver a service you requested (for example, a domain registry), or if the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses only the basic cookies needed for WordPress and caching to work. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping it safe, and how long I keep it
I use access controls, secure connections and reputable Australian hosting. I keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet my record keeping obligations. I delete information I no longer need.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it, by emailing greg@staader.net. I will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, tell me and I will try to fix it. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
